Abstract

Administratively, Kampung Apar falls within the jurisdiction of Kampung Apar Village, South Pariaman District, Pariaman City, West Sumatra Province. The village boasts various potentials in natural and socio-cultural resources, one of which is the presence of the Kampung Apar Innovation Centre (KAIC) and agricultural potential. However, a significant issue faced is the vulnerability to drought in Kampung Apar. The rice fields in Kampung Apar rely heavily on rainwater for irrigation, posing a problem during dry seasons. Hence, an efficient water-based agricultural system adapted to Kampung Apar's conditions is necessary. Additionally, waste management, particularly the uncontrolled accumulation of organic waste, especially fruits and vegetables from Kurai Taji Market, is another concern. In 2021, the KAIC managed organic waste into various products including solid and liquid fertilizers and maggots. Leveraging the potential of these waste-derived products and maggot cultivation could stimulate a circular economy in Kampung Apar. This research aims to describe the Kampung Apar Innovation Centre program: Digital Technology-Based Smart farming supported by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga AFT Minangkabau in sustainable innovation to address climate change. The research methodology employed is descriptive-qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the innovation in the Digital Technology-Based Smart farming program implemented by KAIC has led to economic improvements in the Kampung Apar community. Furthermore, it has brought changes to the needs fulfilment system, enhanced organizational capabilities, fostered social cohesion, and introduced new agricultural management practices. The objective is to establish a sustainable development program focused on environmental preservation and community prosperity. It is hoped that this program will empower the community to overcome challenges and maximize their potentials, benefiting not only the residents of Kampung Apar but also extending its impact beyond Pariaman City
