Abstract

Climate change is one of the crucial problems facing society. The impacts vary from long droughts, rising sea levels, to extreme temperatures. This problem arises due to the effects of greenhouse gases and irresponsible use of natural resources. Meanwhile, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are accused of playing a major role in releasing greenhouse gas effects. In order to support environmentally friendly management of MSMEs, CSR Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga conducted empowerment program for Jagoan Usaha Kompetitif. This activity was carried out by UMKM Kompetitif in collaboration with the government in Muara Jawa Pesisir Village, Muara Jawa District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. This research uses qualitative research methods to determine the implementation of the PHSS-assisted home industry business program as an attempt to face climate change. The concept used is community empowerment and the 3C approach (concern, capacity and conditions) in achieving the transformation of MSMEs in facing climate change. The results of this research show that Jagoan Usaha Kompetitif shows efforts in environmentally friendly production processes from upstream, pose, to downstream.
