Implementation of Appropriate Technology to Increase Salt Production Quantity (Case Study of Community Involved Development Program at PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore)

This article discusses how PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO) implemented the Integrated Salt Centre program. The research method was descriptive qualitative and Participatory Action Research. By collecting data using interviews, observation and literature study. PHE WMO initiated an Integrated Salt Centre program to overcome the salt problem on Madura Island. PHE WMO in implementing the program carried out innovations in the form of; 1) Bosem water tank optimization 2) Screw Filter Technology (TUF) and 3) SIRAM BERBAKAT (Salt Crystallization Fueled by People's Briquettes). This program innovation has had a significant impact on community development and community needs, especially in increasing the quantity of people's salt production in Banyusangka Village.
